Wimbledon withdrawal.

The side effects from the blissful two weeks of Wimbledon have already sabotaged my happiness.

I feel a million times worse than the way I normally feel when smashed by a terrible hangover.

Why don't they schedule Wimbledon at least twice a year?

Anyway, besides my joyless mood, I absolutely enjoyed those fourteen days of top class tennis.

To sugarcoat the moment, my favourite player, Serena Williams came out tops, defeating her elder sis who was also the defending champion, in straight sets.

The sisters went on to scoop the doubles title, somehow a consolation for the tear-stained Venus.

Everyone is free to say whatever they want about the Williams sisters, but one thing still is clear, they are true STARS!

Roger Federer is spinning on top of the world as am typing this for he just broke a record of being the first man ever to win 15 Grand Slams. I'm sure Peter Sampras wishes he was back on tour.

Roger is surely a veritable tennis legend. Everytime he's on court, magic surges out. Yestersday's match was one of the greatest and longest finals Wimbledon has seen in a long time. To think I even thought of missing it.....

I must say, Andy Roddick fought with everything he had, only the odds were totally against him. He must be not only hip-broken, but also heart-bruised.

An all-Williams Wimbledon final....

If you look at the state of my nails now, you'd cringe with shock.

They have stopped bleeding now, but are still very red and raw.

Yeah, Serena Williams' and Elena Dementieva's tense Wimbledon semi final match put me through all this pain am having now.

It was a two hour and fourty minute session of blood and sweat for the two great tennis stars.

Serena, who is on a bid to her third Wimbledon title, and eleventh Grand Slam lost the first set to the untiring Russian in a very intense tie break.

Second set went to the American, but it was another long struggle from both sides.

I must say, Elena Dementieva played magnificently through out the match. Even her serve, which is normally her weakest weapon did wonders today. She was match point at 5-4 in her favour, in the third set, when Serena hit a splendid volley a few inches from the net bringing the game back to duece. It was impressive and insanely intense!

After another scare of a match point from the Russian, at 6-5, the American pulled everything she had from under her sleeve and again wobbled out of deep trouble she was in.

Serena went on and broke Elena's serve at 6-6 convincing everyone what a great warrior she really is, and a few minutes later ended her opponent's Wimbledon journey.

Serena's attitude and ofcourse some stroke of luck brought her victory when all hope was lost. It was one soul-crippling match we all are gonna remember in years to come. And Elena Dementieva surely gave it her all.

The second semi final match was rather a contrast of the first. Venus Williams, the elder of the mafia sisters didn't waste any time in showing the current world number one Dinara Safina she was still the boss.

Dinara was shamefully outplayed and it was so painful to watch.

We knew ofcourse that Venus, the vicious grass vixen wasn't going to be outpowered.... but we just never thought her final step into the final was going to be that easy.

The million dollar question is: Which one of the Williams is going to be the champion on Saturday?

Even though I still strongly feel Venus will win, I'll still go with Serena. I always go with Serena, anyway.

I love both Sisters and think they are both incredible, but I think Serena's wow-attitude and dramatic ways draw so much attention from people making her the more likeable character of the two.

Venus is rather reserved and calm and its hard to guess what she is thinking.

On court, the two sisters bring with their different characters along. Serena is not afraid to show emotions and when things aren't going her way she screams or breaks a racquet...anything to release the tension. Venus is totally the opposite. She is almost emotionless on court...

Anyway, lets meet on saturday for the final.

Tomorrow its men's semis, Murray Vs Roddick and The Feds Vs Haas.

No halting the Williams coach.

Who's gonna stop Venus Williams from retaining the Wimbledon crown?
Who is ready and steady to say no to the all Willam's final?

The sisters are doing an incredible job at the lawn. They are playing over-the-top tennis in both singles and doubles, and that makes all other players look like pathetic amateurs.
Venus followed Serena into the fourth round of the tournament by beating a very-difficult-to-beat opponent, Suarez Novarro, the same chic who whacked her in the third round of Australian Open earlier this year.
Its really difficult to say which one of the mighty sisters is in a much better form and position to win the title.
As usual, I will go with Serena....even though I've been wrong for three consecutive years...
Venus is an extremely dangerous player, but I still think the younger sister the best of the two.
Anyway, I normally don't care much about who wins if the two meet in the finals. Come on, they live together, they are practically twins, obviously they share the fortune.

The French Open champion Sevtlana Kuznetsova is out of the tournament, and so is Jelena Jankovic.

Andy "spoilt" Murray, who seems to be carrying the whole Wimbledon and ofcourse, Britain on his shoulders impressively made it to the fourth round this afternoon. No matter how much support he gets from his people, I still would not want to be in his position, especially at Wimbledon where the making of great history is at the highest stake.
Hope he wins this time and get everyone to calm down and shut up!

Venus meets Anna Ivanovic on tuesday noon, and her younger sister Serena has a date with Danielle Hantuchova on Monday.

Day three at Wimbledon.

Today was not only the best day of my life but the greatest. Maria Sharapova's heart-breaking loss at Wimbledon made it all the more enjoyable.

I can't remember being this happy for such a long time. And its really coming from within.

For the first time I don't feel as if something is missing....its great what letting go can do to one's heart.

Anyway, enough about my joyful mood.

Maria Sharapova's hot lawn date with Gisela Dulko was one of the most interesting I have seen.

First set was really funeral-like for the former Wimbledon Champion. She just could not get anything right. Maria certainly looked frozen on the court, in that sun-kissed daylight.

While Gisela blasted bomb after bomb of serves, Maria produced one mutilating error after the other.

So 6-2 it was, against the Russian.

Second set started in exactly the same manner as first. Maria was 3-0 down when she finally thought enough was enough.

She broke Gisela's serve and rolled on to finish the set. It was so impressive.

Maria must have burnt all her energy in the second set coz she just could not deliver the goods in the third.

The tennis' beauty queen failed to turn things around. Even the loud grunting couldn't save her this time.

It was one blissful tennis match.

Miss Serena cruised through second round in straight impressive sets. Elena Dementieva and Victoria Azarenka also made it through.

The Feds Express is on a slide. Djokovic struggled a bit in the first set, but he also made it through.

Venus in action tomorrow.

Day two at the lawns....

Wimbledon's defending champion, Miss Venus Williams has began her bid with such ease it only took her less than forty minutes to boot out her teenage opponent, Swiss Stefanie Voegele.
Is Venus fit and ready to make her sixth grass title?
Well.....I am keeping my fingers crossed for her!

The world number one, Dinara Safina and Jelena Jankovic also made it through.

The most pampered lad, Andy Murray had a rough-patched start against American Robert Kendrick, but managed to turn the match around eventually.
Murray's name sake American Andy Roddick eased through his first match in straight sets.

And so the games continue................

Day one - Wimbledon.

What a great day it's been - incredible matches, no rain episodes....oh, I forgot, there won't be any more rain dramas this year at Wimbledon. Yeah, disappointing I know, but the roof on centre court is there to stay.
Somehow Wimbledon without the yo-yo-like running of players from courts to locker rooms doesn't sound familiar enough.
But what the hell, there is still so much more to be enjoyed at this posh Grand Slam; like the angelic look the white attire puts on our competetors. Its marvelous indeed.

Anyway, first day of the Slam, not so many casualties, am afraid. Except for James Blake, maybe. I must say am quite disappointed of the American early loss, but am not that surprised.
Serena Williams slided into the second round in straight sets, and so did Maria Sharapova and Elena Dementieva.
Danielle Hantuchova upset the cute British teen and wild card, Laura Robson, but ofcourse in three hard sets. Laura, last year's Wimbledon juniors champion took the first set, 6-3 in less than half an hour. You can ofcourse imagine the Home fans cheers when she took the first set. Everybody watching the match believed the young tennis star was going to win, for Danielle was hampered with unforced errors and nerves.
It all turned sour for the British when she failed to break the Slovakian babe at 5-4 in the second set.
Hantuchova went ahead and took the deciding set, 6-2 and winning the match.
Laura Robson might have gotten out in the first round, but everybody knows she is a star. Just give her a couple of years.....

No chance for anybody to halt the Feds Express in the first round. The Swiss cruised into the second round in straight sets.
Jeo Wilfred Tsonga and Novak Djokovic both had to go into fourth sets to put their opponents in their places.
Soderling, the man who upset Raphael Nadal at the French, also made up through.

Lets see what tomorrow brings!

Wimbledon 2009.

Its only a few hours from now, before the Grandest slam of the year begins in the historical city, London.

Wimbledon, the only Slam on grass starts tomorrow, the 22nd june, and I tell you, the draws are interesting.

With the men's world number one, Raphael Nadal retired from the tournament, everybody has high hopes of seeing new faces, especially in the final. It's always been Federer and Nadal for the past three years, and believe me, we have had more than enough of them. Ofcourse they bring with them some heart-wrenching moves that make us smile, but I think a new face will bring so much more..ie raised eye brows to a few faces. Change is good!

There is a very big chance this year's final could be a repeat of last year's; the Williams sisters at each other's throat.

If thats the case, I wonder....
